Today, the Chicago Auto Show kicks off, and Kia is showing off not one, but two new hybrid models. The first is the next iteration of the Optima Hybrid, which now comes with a plug-in iteration. The second is the all-new Niro crossover, the brand's first-ever dedicated hybrid model.

If the name sounds familiar, that's because it is. In 2013, Kia debuted a hybrid crossover prototype in Frankfurt called Niro. Now, it's here. Slotted between the Sportage and Sorento in the brand's size hierarchy, the new gas-electric CUV will offer a winning combination of driving dynamics and a projected 50 mpg highway fuel efficiency.
