The 2021 Sedona carries over with just a few minor changes, including discontinuing the entry-level L model and removing the Venetian Red color as an option.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Sedona is now the LX. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and automatic headlights. Stepping up to the EX adds 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, keyless entry, and a power liftgate. Kia offers the EX Premium Package with chrome exterior trim elements, a hands-free power liftgate, and heated and power-folding side mirrors You can choose the SX for a sunroof, LED headlights, LED taillights, and get the power-folding side exterior mirrors as a standard feature.
Engine (Power)
Every Sedona comes with a 3.3-liter V-6 gas engine. It puts out 276 horsepower and generates 248 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive comes standard, and the engine works with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The 3.3-liter has plenty of power for the Sedona and will propel it up to speed with little effort, even with a full cabin. The suspension soaks up road imperfections, and the responsive steering system makes this minivan easy to handle and maneuverable in tight spaces. When equipped, the Sedona can tow up to 3,500 pounds.
Interior
The three rows of seats in the Sedona provide seating for up to eight people. Cloth upholstery comes standard, and every model has a power-adjustable driver's seat and Kia's Slide-N-Stow second-row seat. The EX adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, and a convenient cooled glove box. The EX Premium Package will get you driver's seat memory settings, a power-adjustable passenger seat, and extra adjustments for the driver's seat, while stepping up to the SX adds a heated steering wheel and ventilated front seats.
Kia gave the Sedona a long list of standard tech features. It starts with a 7-inch touch-screen display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a six-speaker stereo. You only have to bump up to the EX for a wireless charging pad and three charging USB ports, and if you add the Premium Package, it has a 110-volt power outlet. The top-level SX adds an 8-inch touch screen, voice recognition, and it comes standard with navigation. A rear-seat entertainment system is an optional feature for the EX and SX.
Safety Features
The entry-level Sedona has a rearview camera, a full suite of air bags, and traction control. The midlevel EX gets you advanced safety features such as a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors. Frontal collision alert with automatic braking and adaptive cruise control are both optional for the EX, and you can also get lane-departure warning. These all come standard with the SX, and this top trim also adds a 360-degree surround-view camera system.
